What's the deal with this O'Brien Award? If you have to ask, then you don't need to know. But if you must...

Well, in February 2011, mushashi took it upon himself to come up with a means to reward someone each Halo Night. The easy part was coming up with the award itself. An action figure of Chief Miles O'Brien from Star Trek Deep Space Nine (yes, TNG, too) perched atop a trophy adorned with a coonskin cap was the obvious choice.  The hard part was coming up a means to determine who would recieve such a prestigious award.

There are many mysteries about what took place in his home to decide. He assures us that the rumors of consulting ninja monkeys are pure myth and propaganda designed to aggrivate the pirate apes of Ecuador. However, he does refuse to comment about the role of the Pope and Bon Jovi. In any case, most of us are convinced that anime was involved somehow.

Eventually, his deliberation led him to the uncanny idea of bestowing the O'Brien Award to the highest ranking adult on the last match of the night. And so there it is.
