Heavens Above

Everyone's favorite! ...Okay, so maybe not. But "Heavens Above" does provide a lot of opportunity for strategy amidst a constant flow of mayhem.

Based on the "Sandtrap" map, Heavens Above features four primary sets of starting locations, offering options for up to four-team action. The most noteworthy feature of this map, though is the continual barrage of exploding canisters, falling from the sky. Vehicles that stray in the path of these projectiles take a solid punch, but pedestrians unfortunate enough to encounter them rarely survive.

Elephant Onethumb_elephant_one

This elephant is located at the small base near the crashed/buried Albatross ship. The teleporter on the Elephant will transport you to the area under the crashed Albatross, whereas the teleporter near the base of the tower will take you to the top of the tower where a missle pod, a sniper rifle, and active camo await.

At the base of the tower, a Scorpion tank offers heavy artillery and a Spartan Laser offers additional vehicular defense.

Elephant Twothumb_elephant_two

On the opposite side of the area, the second elephant marks the starting point for team two. Using the underground bunker as a base, this area is one of the most defensible on the map. A teleporter on the elephant will take you inside the bunker, where a second teleporter can take you to the top of the tower where a Hornet spawns periodically.

Toward the Spine area, while still under the base, a rocket launcher rests to help in medium to close quarters, while a Warthog sits outside if the team wants to strike quickly.

The Spine

thumb_spinespine-sniperThe Spine offers a semi-defensible base with a high number of entry points. On the plus side, a Chopper spawns inside each of the entry points, keeping them well-blocked until they are moved or destroyed.

Brute shots and spike grenades litter the area inside the Spine, but its biggest feature is a lofty, floating sniper post accessible only from a teleporter inside the Spine. Most of the area is visible from this high vantage point, but its height serves as a disadvantage at times because of the distance from moving targets.

The Covenantthumb_covenant

The Covenant side offers the highest quantity of vehicles but the least protection and cover. Two Wraiths, two Ghosts, and two Banshees are available, along with a number of beam rifles, a couple swords, and an active camo.
