The Next Halo Night
left until the next Halo Night

matts-first-kill-was-riley-cravenThe final Halo Night of 2009 had a decent turnout of 8 guys, including Mighty Nimrod 6 who hasn't joined us in a while and a guy named Matt (who appropriately named himself "Matt" in the game... clever) who enjoyed his first ever Halo Night with us. We had a lot of good team matches thanks to the even number and we even played a round of Grifball, which we haven't had the right number to play correctly in a long time.

john486-rockets-zamurai-278-and-stinklikeonion-for-the-winIn an early round of Rockets on Narrows, we John486 dominated as expected, though everyone, including the new guy Matt, got in several good kills. The best kill of the match though was, without a doubt, John486's winning double kill. A "sure, why not?" shot clear across the map, arriving just in time to take out  and stinklikeonion. It wasn't his only double kill of the map, so we can't attribute the win to just one...

matt-gets-a-killtastropheThe Grifball match was very close, but the blue team won out thanks, in part, to the new guy. With his Killtastrophe and Extermination and general dominance with a Gravity Hammer, Matt provided a lot of support for his team to get an early lead. The red team tried to play catchup, but the blue's early lead held on through the end. Several people, of course, enjoyed the high-kill medals, but it's extra special when it's your first time. Or something like that.

zamurai-278-says-you-cant-hide-foreverIn a round of the Save One Bullet variant of Infection, Mighty Nimrod 6 employed the highly common zombie apocolypse strategy of hiding and not drawing attention to oneself. Much like in the real-world zombie scenarios, this only bought him time, and the zombies eventually hunted him down once their senses were attuned to him. The big red "last man standing" arrow pointing to his head helps, too.

bubbagumps-wraith-says-hello-warthogIn a round of Team Slayer on our Avalanche variant Vehicle Fun 2.0, which just bordered on anarchy last time, we saw at least as much chaos as could be expected. Though the winning kill was a rather typical shotgun to the chest courtesy of John486's trigger finger, most of the kills could easily qualify as vehiclar manslaughter. Or alienslaughter. And sometimes vehicleslaughter.
